  14. I just wanted to say that the game runs really well on my Motorola Triumph which is not the greatest phone. I’m really impressed. I’ve been trying to find something good to put on my phone and I think this will work out swell. Great job on the crossplatform work, top notch.

    • This is weird. From what I know, Fran Bow doesn’t use any network features, so OpenSSL shouldn’t be needed… but we’ll investigate it anyway. Thank you for the report.

      • I had that same openssl problem on Fedora 17, but I got it working by creating an alias from my libssl.so.1.0.0k to .1.0.0. Your build process should really link to libssl.so.10 to cover all similar versions. Same with other DLLs.

Better yet, statically link everything you can. There are one or two (libGL?) that have to be dynamic-linked because they’re provided by the player’s video driver.

      • Creating symlinks as described by Tom was the first thing I tried; it doesn’t help when it is expecting a OPENSSL_1.0.0 symbol, and you have a newer version. As Tom said, you might want to do some static linking.

This would be so much easier with html5. You don’t need C++ speed. Only problem is there’s nothing like Steam for html5 yet.

  27. I downloaded the Windows version of the demo, and I don’t know if the link is corrupted, or if something went wrong when I downloaded it, but when I tried to play it, it didn’t look right at all. I didn’t see the intro, and the screen was filled with a bunch of overlapping graphics. I could through some of gameplay from a part of the demo, when she’s talking to the first boy he meets in the game, but I also saw pictures on to of that of a white siloutte style face, like the style of the intro (from what I can see when others have downloaded and played it), a hand, several pictures of a bloody nurse, and some bits of text that don’t look like English. It’s probably a weird bug in the downloading processs, since other people have been able to download it to their computers just fine, so I wanted to see what I was doing wrong and how to fix it. Could it have something to do with the version of Windows I have? I have Windows 8.

I’ve tried the one for my tablet and it works fine though…

  28. Howdy thijs is kind of of off topic but I was wondering if blogs use
WYSIWYG editors or if you havce to manually code with HTML.

I’m starting a blog soon but have no coding experience so I wanted
too get guidance from someone wigh experience. Any help would be
    greatly appreciated!

  29. Hi guys!
I downloaded the Linux version of the demo and works perfect in OpenSuse 13.1
and the game is awesoneeeeeeee =D
    greetings from mexico

  30. Hola, supe de ustedes por una entrevista que hicieron para un podcast mexicano: Token. Éxito con el proyecto.

    • Hi! So sorry to hear that! :( I’m afraid we can’t solve that at this moment. We are putting all our efforts and time to actually finish the game. This alpha demo is just to show a bit of what Fran Bow is and like I said we can’t put some time into fixing this alpha demo. We will have in mind that you have problems with Window 7 and assure that the finished game won’t have those problems. Thank you for letting us know! Have a great day!

    • Only a question some may help the game runs. Have you turned off the Antivirus? Sometimes that may help :( Otherwise Im not sure. I also use Win7 and it’s pretty weird :(
